Knauf Associates is lead counsel in the pending arbitration
case
Lori King v. Kaplan Inc., et al, in which we allege that
the operators of an online law school (Concord Law School
of Kaplan University) discriminated against our client on
the basis of her hearing impairment.

In business for nearly 10 years at the time, the
billion-dollar defendants had not captioned pre-recorded
lecture videos, and did not provide captioning for live
classes.  Our client also could not participate in student
groups who conducted their meetings via online audio.

Our client felt segregated and marginalized, and was
overwhelmed with single-paragraph transcripts instead of
captioning that would have allowed her to participate on
an equal basis with her fellow law students.  Our client
ultimately dropped out.
